How would you spend $5 million?

190buttonCFOver2.JPGMonday, Nov. 19, CBC News Ottawa anchor Adrian Harewood hosts a gala celebration marking the Silver Anniversary of the Community Foundation of Ottawa. CBC News Ottawa will have coverage beginning at 5 PM, while next week, Ottawa Morning looks at some of the local organizations that have benefitted from CFO grants.

For the last 25 years, the Community Foundation has inspired a smart and caring community by connecting donors with causes that matter. The Foundation provides over $5 million in grants to more than 450 local organizations each year, supporting everything from social services to community health and education, from arts and culture to the environment. Governor-General David Johnston and Mayor Jim Watson will be among Foundation supporters at the Ottawa Convention Centre for the celebration, which is free and open to the public.

Your local CBC has covered many of the organizations working with the CFO. Here are some of those stories.
