Free Solo Concerts this Weekend!

Solo is a bilingual concert series featuring talented artists from Ontario. The following concerts will be hosted by mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah, host of Tempo on CBC Radio 2, 103.3 FM.

Email ottawaevents@cbc.ca to submit a request for free tickets to each of the following concerts taking place at the CBC Broadcast Centre, 181 Queen Street. These concerts will be recorded for future broadcast.

 

Sat. June 25th - The Mighty Popo
His Juno award winning music is steeped in African tradition, but as much as Popo has inherited a love of the traditional music of Rwanda and Burundi, he also has a lifelong connection with rock and roll, blues, jazz, R&B, Reggae and folk traditions. Sun. June 26th - Cindy Doire
Chanteuse Cindy Doire is a Timmins, Ontario girl at heart, but she's managed to take her music a lot further afield - across Canada and Europe. Doire's new album, Sticks and Mud, is her third and is also her first English album. Her two previous CDs interpretations of French folk/jazz material, won her fans in Canada and Europe
