Canada Day Coverage

Below are some details on different ways you can celebrate Canada Day with CBC Ottawa on July 1, 2011.

  • Catch a special edition of Ottawa Morning live from The Sparks Street Mall from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Tune in to hear the show on CBC Radio One (91.5FM), or come down to Sparks Street to witness some live Radio! Host Stu Mills has Canada Day tips, information on road closures and info on the best vantage points for the Royal visit.

  • Tune in to CBC Television or CBC News Network at 11:30 for live coverage from Parliament Hill. Our very own Julie Nesrallah, host of Tempo on CBC Radio 2 (103.3 FM), will sing God Save the Queen at noon to thousands of Canadians, and the visiting Royals.

  • Hallie Cotnam hosts the Canada Day Maple Sugar Song Circle at 12 p.m. on CBC Radio One (91.5 FM).  An hour of storytelling and song, this show will feature Daniela Gesundheit (Snowblink), Graham Van Pelt (Miracle Fortress), Liam Corcoran (Two Hours Traffic) and Kinnie Starr.

  • The special Canada Day edition of CBC News Ottawa at 6 will broadcast live from Parliament Hill. Host Lucy van Oldenbarneveld will present highlights from the day, including William and Catherine's visit.
