CBC Ottawa at the Genies

The 31st Annual Genie Awards are set to take place this Thursday, March 10 at the National Arts Centre. Watch them live on CBC Television at 8 p.m.--or better yet, come down to the Fan Zone and win a spot to see them live in person!

The Genie Awards 'Fan Zone' is a coveted and prime celeb-spotting position near the red carpet. Host, William Shatner will hand pick two lucky fans from the 'Fan Zone' to cross the red carpet and attend the Awards.

For a pre-show update from the Red Carpet, tune in to CBC News Ottawa at 5, 5:30 & 6 on Thursday. Host Lucy van Oldenbarneveld will have special access to some of the evening's biggest stars. You can also tune in to All in a Day on CBC Radio One 91.5 FM between 3 and 6 p.m. for a special Genies-inspired program.

Special guests attending the 31st Annual Genie Awards include Canadian screen legends Gordon Pinsent (Away From Her) and Rémy Girard (Incendies), Bruce Greenwood (Barney's Version), young starlettes Jodelle Ferland (Twilight Eclipse) and Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield), CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos and Jian Ghomeshi, Zaib Shaikh (Midnight's Children), Genie Award Best Actor nominee Jay Baruchel (The Trotsky) and many more.
