Tree chipping

The BC Lions Society's annual Chip In for the Kids returns this weekend. Both Saturday and  Sunday people can dispose of their Christmas tree in an environmentally-friendly manner at one of six recycling depots around Greater Victoria. Money raised goes to support Vancouver Island Easter Seals House.  Lions Club members and volunteers  will be accepting Christmas trees in exchange for a donation at the following locations between 10am to 4pm:     

Tillicum Shopping Centre

·        Broadmead Village Shopping Centre

·        Safeway - Fort & Foul Bay location

·        Westshore Town Centre

·        University Heights Shopping Centre

·        Sooke Home Hardware

BC Forest Discovery Centre (Duncan)


Only live, cut Christmas trees can be accepted (no artificial or potted trees) and decorations and tinsel must be removed.

To encourage thoughtful and respectful conversations, first and last names will appear with each submission to CBC/Radio-Canada's online communities (except in children and youth-oriented communities). Pseudonyms will no longer be permitted.
