Weather Words

A couple of days ago I referenced the day as being a large day and then we had a call to the show saying that large, when being used to describe a sunny day, was a labrador term as in it's a large labrador day. So that prompted us to put the request out to our listeners for words they use to describe the weather and here's some of what they phoned in.

Help Hannah

Hannah Warren in only ten months old, and has been waiting for a life-saving operation since birth. Hannah was born without a trachea. She is in a hospital in South Korea near her father, Darryl and her mother, Young-Mi. Her grandmother, Genevieve Warren, is on the phone from her home in Paradise to talk to us now.

Carbonear is about to lose its only obstetrician.

The hospital in Carbonear is about to lose its only obstetrician. Eastern Health is now trying to come up with a plan to provide care for the women who will be left without a doctor. Dr. John Guy is the regional director of medical services with Eastern Health. He explained the situation to the CBC's Mark Quinn.

Second Story Theatre Group from Tasmania.

Pharmacie Break-Ins

Over the past two weeks, there have been at least four break-ins at drugstores in the province. It's a trend that worries pharmacy owners and their employees. Rick Elliott is president of the Pharmacists' Assoc. of Newfoundland and Labrador. He is also the co-owner of several independent pharmacies.
