This southern Ontario riding takes in the township of West Lincoln and the towns of Grimsby, Lincoln and Pelham. It also includes part of the city of Hamilton south and east of Glancaster Road, the transmission line, Redhill Creek and the Niagara Escarpment. The riding runs from Lake Ontario in the northeast to the Welland River in the southeast and east to the border of St. Catharines. The local economy is sustained by light industry and service companies feeding off the steel industry in Hamilton and the automotive industry in St. Catharines. The riding is a mix of urban and rural, with fruit-growing operations, wineries, tourism and mixed farming serving as the economic base. This riding was created in 2007 by combining parts of Stoney Creek, Niagara Centre, Erie-Lincoln and Hamilton Mountain.

Political History:Progressive Conservative Brad Clark won the first election in the Stoney Creek riding in 1999, defeating Liberal Chris Phillips. In 2001, he was named transportation minister and later served as labour minister under Ernie Eves. Clark was defeated in 2003, losing to Liberal Jennifer Mossop by over 5,000 votes. Voters in Niagara Centre elected former Welland New Democrat MPP Peter Kormos in 1999 and re-elected him by more than 10,000 votes in 2003.
