Tougher laws for distracted drivers

On your cellphone? Checking your GPS? A family in Scarborough is calling for stiffer penalties for distracted drivers after a woman was killed when a van slammed into the TTC bus she was on. Witnesses say the driver was on the phone.


MPP Bas Balkissoon has tabled a private members bill that would increase fines and cost you demerit points. When have you had a close call because of distracted driving?
