Since my last post I have concluded two reviews and released their findings to the complainants and CBC News.
The first concerned a 2010 CBC.ca report on a food allergen alert that involved an Ontario bakery. The bakery owner indicated he wished the report to be unpublished or at the very least corrected. I did not find a violation of CBC Journalistic Standards and Practices.
The second involved a CBC Television report on The National on the reasons behind international non-intervention in Syrian civil strife. The complainant felt CBC News insinuated that Israel was somehow responsible for the ongoing strife and violence and directing U.S. policy on the matter. I did not find a violation of journalistic policy.
I have started a review of a concern that CBC took advantage of a minor in order to present a story. Two other previously noted reviews are under way on how CBC.ca content was amended.
