Friday was Alexa's competition! Despite the rain, it was an amazing experience
to watch the Olympic Games in Vancouver and to cheer for an athlete that I know
and care about.

resize alexa loo final.jpgOut of the three Canadian snowboarders in Friday's race, Alexa
was the only one selected for the final 16. Sadly, she ended up missing a spot in the quarter-finals by 1/100th of a second. Since 1/100th of a second is very hard to detect - all the fans thought she had won.

The whole crowd started celebrating, only to find out seconds later that she had actually lost. It was a bit sad.

Alexa finished in 12th in the event, the best-ever finish for a Canadian. So
I am very proud of her and I am very happy to have played a small role in the journey to her last Olympics! I wish her the best, and I am sure she has a bright future ahead of her!
