Canada's Virtue, Moir win ice dance gold
They entered the third and final component of the Olympic ice dance competition in the lead, and Canada's Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir refused to give up their hold on the gold-medal position. Virtue, from London, Ont., and Moir of Ilderton, Ont., won Canada's first-ever Olympic ice dance gold medal with a dazzling performance in the free dance Monday at Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum. They earned a score of 110.42 points, boosting their total to 221.57.
Own the Podium dream over: Canadian official
Canada won't own the podium at the Vancouver Games after all. With seven days of competition remaining, the Canadian Olympic Committee raised the white flag Monday on the host team's goal of finishing first overall in the medal count.
Canada cruises into women's hockey final

Bernard clinches playoff spot with win over Sweden
Canada clinched a playoff spot in women's curling with a decisive 6-2 win over Sweden at the Vancouver Olympics on Monday. In what was billed as a potential preview of the of the Olympic gold-medal match, Canada easily slid past Sweden's reigning Olympic gold medallist, Anette Norberg. Canadian skip Cheryl Bernard's rink had been criticized for not having enough international experience heading into the Games.
3 Canadian men soar to aerials final
It was an evening of unpredictable twists and turns in the men's aerials at Cypress Mountain on Monday. And, for once at the Vancouver Olympics, the twists brought good news for Canada. All three Canadians in the qualifying round advanced to the two-jump final, which take place on Thursday.
