However, Canadians fared a little bit better in Sunday's action.
Chris Del Bosco, Davey Barr and Stan Hayer came up short in their quest for gold in the men's skicross event, but Kristina Groves climbed the podium with a silver medal in the women's 1,500-metre speedskating competition.
No medals were up for grabs in men's hockey but the Canadian team suffered a tough 5-3 loss to the U.S., losing out on a bye to the quarter-finals in the process.
