Canada's Alexandre Bilodeau celebrates his gold medal in the men's moguls. (Sean Kilpatrick/Canadian Press) Alexandre Bilodeau erased 34 years of frustration Sunday, winning the men's moguls at the Vancouver Olympics — Canada's first-ever gold-medal finish on home soil.
Bilodeau, a 22-year-old native of Rosemère, Que., beat out Australia's Dale Begg-Smith, the reigning Olympic champion, and American Bryon Wilson to end Canada's gold medal frustrations.
Amazingly, Canada had failed to post a single first-place finish when it hosted the Olympics in 1976 (Montreal) and 1988 (Calgary).
Now that the drought is over, CBCSports.ca wants to know how many more gold medals you think Canada will win in Vancouver.
At the start of the Games, the Canadian Olympic Committee projected the Canadian team would win six to 10 gold medals in Vancouver. Is that reasonable? Do you think Canada will win more than 10? Fewer?
