U.S. goalie Ryan Miller frustrated Canadian shooters, like Joe Thornton, through two games. (Ryan Remiorz/Canadian Press) It will likely come as little comfort for U.S. goalie Ryan Miller that he was named the most valuable player of the Olympic tournament in Vancouver, leading all netminders with a 94.56 save percentage in six games.
Miller was brilliant in leading his team to the gold-medal game against Canada. His only loss came in that final game Sunday afternoon, when Sidney Crosby beat him between the legs in overtime in the 3-2 final.
The all-star team was made up of Americans Miller, defenceman Brian Rafalski and forward Zach Parise; Canadian defenceman Shea Weber and forward Jonathan Toews; and Slovakia's Pavol Demitra, who led all scorers with 10 points.
Rafalski was named the tournament's top defenceman, while Toews was named the top forward.
