Sidney Crosby scored on his second shootout attempt to lift the Canadian men's hockey team to a 3-2 win over Switzerland on Thursday at the Vancouver Olympics.
Unlike their opening 8-0 win over Norway, the Canadians struggled against the pesky Swiss, who killed off six penalties and came down from 2-0 to force a shootout.
Crosby didn't hide the fact that Team Canada has to play better if it hopes to win the gold medal on home soil.
"To go through that desperation and tight hockey, we're going to have to get better as we move forward," Crosby said. "The gold-medal game isn't tomorrow, and that's the good news."
What do you think?
Is your faith in Team Canada shaken? Was Thursday's game a sign of things to come for coach Mike Babcock's team? Or are people making too much of this and blowing Canada's meagre showing against the Swiss out of proportion?
