The Contenders
Norway's Petter Northug is ready to add a fourth medal to his haul this Olympics. He won the world championships in 2009 and will try to fight off fatigue from the previous three races to finish big in the cross country finale.

Canadian Medal Hopes
While the controversy surrounding the Canadian team and their decision to replace blind skier Brian McKeever has eclipsed talk of medal potential, there is a good chance that Alex Harvey, George Grey, Ivan Babikov or Devon Kershaw could end up on the podium. The four cross country skiers have exceeded expectations and the 50km could be their big finale. But Canada has never medaled in this event.

The Dark Horse
Switzerland's Dario Cologna became the first Swiss cross country skier to win gold at the Olympics. He will try to overpower Northug in the final.
