If people didn't know who Sven Kramer was before, they do now (thanks to the hilarious video of the Dutchman asking an NBC reporter if she was stupid). Kramer holds the world record in the 10,000-metre race, which he set in March of 2007. He's also won gold in the last three world championships for this event.

Here is a look at Tuesday's mens's 10,000-metre speed skating race, which gets underway at 2:00 p.m. ET:

The Contenders

If people didn't know who Sven Kramer was before, they do now (thanks to the hilarious video of the Dutchman asking an NBC reporter if she was stupid, which you can see by clicking here). Kramer holds the world record in the 10,000-metre race, which he set in March of 2007. He's also won gold in the last three world championships for this event.

Also representing the Netherlands is Bob de Jong, reigning Olympic gold medalist in this distance. De Jong hasn't seen the success Kramer has in the 10,000 during the last few years, but he's far from the twilight of his career. In fact, he set his best time in the event, 12:53:63, on Dec. 30, 2009.

One of the main threats to upset Kramer is Norway's Havard Bokko. Bokko won the silver medal at the 2009 World Championships, just barely behind Kramer.

The Top Five (Current World Cup rankings)

1. Sven Kramer, Netherlands, 400 pts

2. Bob de Jong, Netherlands, 380 pts

3 Ivan Skobrev, Russia, 325 pts

4. Havard Bokko, Norway, 305 pts

5. Carl Verheijen, Netherlands, 230 pts

Canadian Medal Hopes

Lucas Makowsky placed 11th in the qualifying race did not advance to the final.

The Dark Horse

Italy's Enrico Fabris could shake up what seems like a Dutch and Norweigen podium race. The 28-year-old placed eighth in Turin, but finished second in the 10,000 metres at the 2008 Worlds.
