Today's blooper comes courtesy of NBC, the same network being lambasted state-side for refusing to air Olympic events live. Looks like some of their reporters would have done well to study up before the Games, too.

When an NBCer got her chance to interview Dutch speed skater Sven Kramer, one of the most famous athletes in the Netherlands, about his gold medal right after the race, it started like this:

Reporter: "I need you to say your name, your country and the medal you just won here."

Kramer: "Are you stupid?"

Reporter: "For tape identification purposes."

Kramer: "Oh, hell no, I'm not going to do that."

At least Kramer was kind enough to note that the interviewer was American, not Canadian. And good for him. With this quip, 15 minutes on the international stage have probably just turned into at least an hour.
