I just watched the game at The Bay in downtown Vancouver. In a resourceful (and wonderfully Canadian moment) people merged the furniture department with the electronics/TV department.

Umlauting

Umlauting.
I've been searching my keyboard for about 25 ... ok, 45 minutes trying to figure out how to umlaut. I had no idea umlauting was so difficult. But I will stick with it out of respect to the 'Finnish Flash' Teemu Selanne (who has one over the 'a' in his last name).

If you were watching the Canadian men's hockey team play Germany
earlier this week maybe you noticed a guy in the stands holding a sign
for the TV cameras. The sign read (in red and black Canada colours)
"Larissa Neville. Marry me?"

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic official transportation motto is: "Know before you go." As in ... know where you're going before you attempt to go there. Good advice for anyone who isn't a wandering minstrel or a druid. But actually, it's not that simple.

Norge! I took in Canada's opening game against Norway at the Scandinavian Centre in Burnaby. Kind of a clearing house for all the Scandinavian nations (though I was told in hushed tones by one member that the Icelanders are only associate members!)
