Kelly Vanderbeek Canadian alpine skier Kelly VanderBeek has reached the World Cup podium three times in her career. Her most cherished accomplishment came when she earned a bronze in the super-G at the famed Lake Louise course in Alberta, becoming the first Canadian female skier to reach the podium on home soil.
VanderBeek nearly captured a medal at the 2006 Torino Games, missing the podium by just 0.03 of a second.
Born in Kapuskasing and raised in Kitchener, Ont., VanderBeek now resides with husband, and fellow Olympian, David Ford in Chilliwack, B.C.
