It's impossible to choose a single favourite moment of these Olympics. Start with k.d. lang in the opening.
It's impossible to choose a single favourite moment of these Olympics. Start with k.d. lang in the opening. The hometown girls -- Maelle Ricker and Ashleigh McIvor coming through. The luminescent beauty of Virtue and Moir. Canada's new favourite hoser Jon Montgomery. Tough as nails Kevin Martin with tears in his eyes. John Furlong's unapologetic attempt at French in the closing.
There are favourite smaller moments as well. The pair of hopeful young men at the women's bonze medal hockey game holding up the "WE DO CURLS" "FOR SWEDISH GIRLS" signs.
The number of blue jacketed volunteers coming and going to "work" in my neighbourhood (way to go Hastings-Sunrise!)
The halving of cars and doubling of bikes commuting to and from the city. Discovering how closing downtown streets has thrown open the doors to the party. The hundreds of thousands of happy fans and polite liner-uppers.
Norway's pants.
Way to go Canada!
Well done Vancouver!
