After spending a few days in Vancouver it was time for a change of scenery for Lane and I. In order to take full advantage of the entire Olympic experience, we boarded a bus to head up to Whistler for a couple of days to meet up with a bunch of friends from Toronto and Lane's hometown of St. Thomas Ontario...not to mention a couple of Olympic events.
Surrounded by mountains a couple of hours north of Vancouver, it's no wonder why Whistler is the ultimate destination for snowboarders, skiiers and vacationers from around the world. This place is AMAZING! The village at the base of Blackcomb and Whistler mountains is full of resorts, shops, bars and restaurants. At night - especially when an event like the Olympics are on, this place comes to life...
After taking in a medal ceremony at the Whistler medals plaza (which included a live simulcast of Canadian Ashleigh McIvor receiving her gold medal at BC Place) - it was time to enjoy the village nightlife!
