The British Ski and Snowboard Federation has been placed in financial administration but the national Olympic committee says all affected athletes will still be able to compete in Vancouver.

The British Olympic Association said Friday it will "immediately put in place a contingency plan" to make sure the 14 skiers and snowboarders on the country's Olympic team can participate in the Vancouver Games, which start Feb. 12.

The BOA said the International Ski Federation has approved a plan to let a subsidiary company act as national body for the sports.

Snowsport GB needed to secure $326,000 US in funding by the end of January to stave off bankruptcy.

The British team includes alpine skier Chemmy Alcott and snowboarder Zoe Gillings.

O'Connor: Like it or not, Canada choked
They said a lot of things, about how they definitely could have done it, even though it would have been difficult to do. How all the hype and high expectations were warranted, and how they had come to Whistler full of maple leaf pride and looking to own, as the slogan goes, the podium. But what Canada's men's alpine team stopped short of saying was the truth: They choked.
