Robbie Dixon is expected to be ready for the Olympics after sustaining a mild concussion last week. (Frank Gunn/Canadian Press)Robbie Dixon is returning home with an injury but the Canadian skier is expected to be ready for next month's Winter Olympic Games.
Dixon slipped on some ice in Kircherg, Austria, last week and suffered a minor concussion, an Alpine Canada official said Tuesday.
Team coaches felt it was best for Dixon, of North Vancouver, B.C., to head home and rest before the Games, which begin Feb. 12.
It's been a tough year for the Canadian team. So far six skiers, including potential medallists John Kucera and Kelly VanderBeek, have suffered injuries that will keep them out of the Games.
Dixon, 25, has four top-10 finishes this World Cup season. He was fifth in a super-giant slalom race at Lake Louise, Alta.
