Eva Stachniak and The Winter Palace

Eva Stachniak

Catherine the Great came to Russia as a young German princess and in a relatively short span of time emerged as one of the most powerful monarchs in history.

Her fascinating story is told in a new novel from Eva Stachniak, titled The Winter Palace.

We had a great time with Eva recently in the Studio One Book Club.

She talked about her own move from Poland to Canada, her writing and of course her research into the life of Catherine the Great.

Part two of the Book Club will air after 8:30 on Saturday March 24.
