Burgess Shale
We have one of the richest fossil beds in the world right in our own back yard.
The Burgess Shale is a UNESCO World Heritage site, protected within the boundaries of Yoho National Park. The Royal Ontario Museum has a great display of the exploration of the region.
It's near the top of Mount Burgess, above the tiny town of Field, BC.
A few weeks ago, Laurie Dickson and Paul Grant rode horses up the side of of the mountain to see the Burgess Shale.

Working Gear Clothing Society is a volunteer-run organization that provides free work clothes to men
who need help getting back into the workforce.
Steel-toed boots are an essential piece of gear that's always in short supply. They've just launched a campaign called No Small Feet to collect up to 400 pairs of workboots.
