Carolyn Thomas - Heart Health Month

After surviving a mis-diagnosed heart attach, Carolyn Thomas set out to educate herself about heart disease and subsequently other women about heart health.

She was the first Canadian to attend the "WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium for Women With Heart Disease" at the Mayo Clinic. She has spoken to thousands of people about heart health, she writes and award winning blog called myheartsisters.org

She will be presenting her Cardiac Cafe workshop next Saturday (Feb 23) at the University of Victoria.

You can hear that conversation Sunday (Feb 17) after the 8:00 am news.

To encourage thoughtful and respectful conversations, first and last names will appear with each submission to CBC/Radio-Canada's online communities (except in children and youth-oriented communities). Pseudonyms will no longer be permitted.
