World Rivers Day

World Rivers Day was founded in 2005 by BCIT instructor Mark Angelo in Burnaby. More than 60 countries will participate in this year's global celebration of waterways. In BC Campbell River is holding its Haig-Brown Festival to highlight conservation efforts and celebrate the river. We'll speak with organizer Cynthia Bendickson on Sunday at 7:30 am about what they're planning. Several other communities are also marking the day with river cleanups, festivals, forums and paddles on the river.
