Potter Denise Jeffrey

Denise Jeffrey's move from the East coast to the West has had an interesting effect on her pottery.  For one thing the glazes that she uses just look different here, and for another, the decoration she's using on her pots and her larger pieces has switched from a sea theme to a tree theme.  Also bits of topographical maps are showing up on goblets and platters as Denise learns to find her way around a new part of the world.


I had a great visit to Denise's studio and gallery in Burnaby where she's getting ready for a show opening July 27 at Deer Lake Gallery. She invited me out to watch her opening the kiln, which was an event filled with surprise!
