Susan Aihoshi - Torn Apart: The Internment Diary of Mary Kobayashi

Susan Aihoshi's first booked is called "Torn Apart: The Internment Diary of Mary Kobayashi." It's the latest in the Scholastic young adult series, "Dear Canada."

It explores the experiences of a young girl living in Vancouver in 1941 and what happens to her and her family after Japan bombs Pearl Harbor.

Susan did extensive research to write this book, including delving into her own family history.
