Katie Burke: Featherettes

I have talked to artisans working with a whole range of materials over the years but I don't recall ever meeting anyone who was working with feathers.  That changed last week when I had a chance to talk to Katie Burke, one of the two founders of Featherettes on Salt Spring Island.

Katie has been creating head bands, fascinators, earrings, necklaces and even a dress out of feathers.  And she says this is only the beginning!
