Janet and Greta Podleski are such fun to spend time with and I got a chance to do just that recently when they dropped by the NXNW Cooking Club to talk about their latest cookbook, The Looneyspoons Collection.

I love the story of how the two of them set out in the 90's to produce their first cookbook, simply called Looneyspoons, with very little knowledge of how to publish and even less money!  But their belief in what they were doing, bringing together sound nutritional advice, great recipes and a lot of puns, jokes and crazy illustrations paid off big time!

Janet and Greta have published three #1 best selling cook books, had their own tv show and have developed their own line of food!

You can hear some of the fun we had when the sisters prepare a delicious Thai chicken pizza in the demo kitchen at Barbara Jo's Books to Cooks.  (since it's a Looneyspoons recipe you know the title has to be fun; Thai Kwon Dough)

The recipe they talked about on the show is available as a pdf in the Cooking Club link on the upper right hand side of this page.

Janet and Greta gave me two copies of The Looneyspoons Collection to give away. So if you'd like to have a chance at one please send me your best cooking tip. You can email to nxnw (at) cbc.ca
