Political History:

Incumbent MLA Dave Ramsay will re-election in the district he won in the 2003 election after defeating two other candidates to succeed former speaker Tony Whitford, who retired that year. (Whitford is now commissioner of the Northwest Territories.) Voter turnout in Kam Lake tends to be low, although it was above 65% in 2003.
