Riding Profile: This urban riding was re-created in the 2003 redistribution from parts of Dartmouth-Cole Harbour (78 per cent) and Cole Harbour-Eastern Passage (29 per cent). Primarily a residential community, it includes Colby Village, Forest Hills and Wildwood. Cole Harbour Reserve is also part of this riding.
The population is 21,880 and the average income is $30,660. The riding includes two major high schools, Cole Harbour and Auburn High.
Political History: NDP leader Darrell Dexter has held the riding since 1998.
| 2003: | NDP Darrell Dexter won with 55 per cent of the vote, a total of 4,977 votes. PC Brian Thomas came in a distant second, with 2,387 votes. LIB Peter Foy was third with 1,523 votes and NSP Jessica Gould received 102 votes. | 1999: | NDP Darrell Dexter defeats PC Greg Frampton by 414 votes. Dexter beat LIB Peter Foy by 1,000 votes. |
