Riding Profile: The riding was created in 2003 and includes 69 per cent of what was Bedford-Fall River and 31 per cent of the Halifax-Bedford Basin former ridings. It contains the part of the town of Bedford lying southeast of Highway 102 (Bicentennial Drive).

 

Political History: A large chunk of the new riding (the part which made up the former riding of Bedford-Fall River) has been held by cabinet ministers since 1993.

2003: PC Peter Christie took 44 per cent of the vote, with 4,114 votes. LIB Richard Zurawski got 3,208 votes and NDP Bob Watson got 2,055 votes.
1999: PC Peter Christie defeats ND Jane Earle by 3,866 votes in Bedford-Fall River.
1998: LIB Francene Cosman defeats PC Peter Christie by 313 votes.
1993: LIB Francene Cosman defeats PC Peter Kelly by 393 votes.

 

Voter Turnout: 63 per cent in 2003.
