July 21, 4:44 p.m. - Leaders do not care to reply to NSRAP letter I was pleased that the CBC managed to obtain an answer to the question of their position on same-sex marriage on Friday's newscast. Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project sent each of the three leaders by courrier a letter on July 9. As of Monday the 21st we have received no reply. It would appear from your news report that they all three claim to support the proposition of same-sex marriage but are unwilling to take the steps to make Nova Scotia the third province after Ontario and B.C. to allow such marriages. The bottom line is that it has been found to be absolutely unconstitutional for same-sex unions to continue to be discriminated against by refusing these couples the same access to marriage as opposite-sex couples. By refusing to act immediately Nova Scotia is continuing to actively discriminate against a minority whilst knowing that it is unconstitutional. - Ian Crowe, NSRAP
