Current MLA: Jon Carey (PC) Riding Profile: Kings West includes the town of Berwick in the north and Aylesford and Greenwood in the south. This area of Kings County has undergone a period of economic growth recently with an expansion at CFB Greenwood and a new Superstore for Kingston. Michelin is also planning another expansion at the tire plant in Waterville. The largest employers are the Annapolis Valley school board, Avon & Graves Foods and Eassons Transport. The population is 20,970 and the average income is $23,743. Educational levels are slightly higher than the provincial average and the unemployment rate is lower--at less than eight per cent.
