Current MLA: Howard Epstein, (NDP)

Riding Profile: Completely a Metro Halifax riding, it contains shopping centres and small businesses. In the 2003 redistribution, it kept all of the existing riding and added, in the south, the NW corner of Halifax-Chebucto (6%)-- area west of Oxford St., between Quinpool Road and Jubilee Road.

Economy: military, residential and retail.

Political History: A Liberal stronghold in the 1970s, former federal NDP leader Alexa McDonough held it for the New Democrats through the 1980s.

1998:	NDP Howard Epstein defeats LIB Kenzie MacKinnon by 993 votes.
