Should environmental targets be delayed to keep power rates down?

The Nova Scotia government is loosening its pollution requirements for Nova Scotia Power in an effort to prevent a proposed rate increase for next year.

Premier Darrell Dexter announced Thursday the government will extend the deadline for achieving an emissions cap until 2014. The limit was supposed to be in place by the end of this year.
