French settlement and Scottish immigration influenced the Acadian and Celtic traditions found in Cape Breton's music and dance. These traditions also made their way into Cajun culture through the Acadians who were expelled from Nova Scotia in the mid-1700s. Now we meet at the crossroads of Celtic, Acadian and Cajun traditions with music, song and dance that reveals our close ties across the miles. Toes will be tapping and feet a-flying as local singers, players and dancers welcome Acadians from all corners of North America to Celtic Colours' newest venue.

Dirk Powell, David Greely, Le bruit court dans la ville, Pierre Chartrand, Colin Grant, Joël Chiasson, Delores Boudreau, Pieds en cadence

There's nothing like singing songs to touch the soul on a Sunday afternoon, and today the boys will share the songs they love and the stories that inspired them. Expect to hear them sing in English, French and Gaelic--some songs you'll recognize, others you'll be discovering for the first time. Lennie comes from Prince Edward Island where French and Celtic traditions mingle with folk and popular styles of music to produce a distinct island sound while Buddy, Cyril, Goiridh and Roger reflect their Cape Breton roots and lifestyle in song.
