Lobsters in the Arctic
Inuvik's francophones held a lobster feast on May 9.
The annual mothers' day dinner has become a tradition in the town. The lobsters arrive alive and are steam-cooked outside the Legion Hall for the enjoyment of more than 125 guests.
Élise Décarie-Jean, president of l'Association des Francophones du Delta du Mackenzie, said tickets are often sold weeks in advance.
The lobsters are caught in New Brunswick and are brought to the arctic circle is just over 24 hours.
