CBC wants to hear from you, about the election, the party platforms and leaders, and any issues you would like discussed or investigated during the campaign.

I must say, I like the job you people at CBC have done on this site. For one, the district profiles are interesting, well laid out and informative, especially for anyone interested in checking out stats on any or all of the electoral districts. One suggestion though... detailed maps should be added that show the geographical boundaries of districts. This would greatly enhance your well written descriptions, by giving the viewer/reader more of a visual sense of district shape, physical size and location.

...by the way, I for one will be looking forward to Oct. 22nd as Premier Danny's first day in office!!

So what kind of impact will this upcoming election have on the progress to speed up improvements on the Trans?Labrador Highway? I think it's about time that it became a paved, two lane (or four lane) highway to promote tourists to want to visit Labrador without the fear of getting a flat tire, bottoming out from some crater or overworking their vehicles. I also think that establishing one or two gas stations, accompanied by a convenience store, would be a good idea as well to give travelers of the Trans?Labrador Highway piece of mind during their long trip.

Despite polls that say this will be a close election, I am not convinced. Only twice since Confederation (1971 and 1989) have the final results of an election left the province with anything other than a governing party with a substantial majority of elected members, and the clear mandate it represents. The Liberals have lost far too many high profile incumbents (Kevin Aylward, Matthews, Bettney, etc) and the PCs have garnered too many of the traditional high profiles newcomers (municipal leaders like Denine, Letto, Whalen, union leaders, etc.). This election may be close in terms of popular vote, which will turn it into 48 individual constituency battles. The PCs have too many strong candidates for the Liberals to have a chance. Predicted tally: PC?34, LIB?13, NDP?1.
