CBC wants to hear from you, about the election, the party platforms and leaders, and any issues you would like discussed or investigated during the campaign.

I think that Roger Grimes doesn't know how jobs are handed out in his own government. I worked for the Province for 4 months and was not given an opportunity to compete for my own job.

They have interfered at least twice in job competitions to help Liberal supporters gain advantage over other candidates in St. John's and have turned jobs public when there are duly qualified candidates internally in order to avoid filling them prior to an election.

As for the PC platform there is nothing there that says any Williams-led government will eliminate any set number of jobs. It states only that 25% of the civil service will retire and that wasted jobs will be eliminated through attrition. This means, in my mind, management. Grimes should count the numbers of management in his own government before he makes any comment on the public civil service.
