Oct. 5, 11:28 p.m. – NFLD Election Letter

As we approach another Provincial General Election, I am recalling the prosperity this province has been experiencing in recent times, from the near bankrupt state the Tories left us in after their terms of mismanagement from 1971 to 1989, and how the Liberals came in and saved us from that ignominious prospect. How the Liberals have lead us to the position of leading this great country, Canada, in economic growth in recent years.

Contrasting the disaster we experienced under Tory management, or maybe I should say Tory mismanagement, the Hard Tory Times of Frank Moores, Brian Peckford and Tommy Rideout, with the positive, progressive growth during Liberal Times with Clyde Wells, Brian Tobin, Beaton Tulk, and the present Liberal Leader, Roger Grimes.

We, the voters of Newfoundland and Labrador should get solidly behind Roger Grimes and the Liberal Party so they can continue to deliver the GOOD TIMES they’ve been providing.

I’m also recalling how all of Canada sent the Tories packing Federally a few short years ago, from the largest majority in Canadian governmental history to a mere two seats in the Federal Parliament. They were decimated, not even able to qualify as a political party, and they are not much better off today with a dozen or so seats and in fifth place in the Federal Parliament.

Here we are once again on the eve of a Provincial General Election and there are those restless souls with short memories considering voting Tory because they have again found a pretty face with money in the person of Danny Williams with only HARD TORY TIMES to offer. Surely they are not so bored with life and masochistic of mind, that they would give serious consideration to voting for the return to the HARD TORY TIMES, and away from the progressive Liberal economic environment we’ve been enjoying.

When the time comes again to mark our “X,” let us do Newfoundland and Labrador proud, and carry on into continued prosperity with a solid Liberal vote. Tell the Tories we don’t want their HARD TIMES by voting Liberal and Roger Grimes.

PS: Progressive Conservative – isn’t that an oxymoron? Enough said!

This election is all about change. I think it is time for a change. I feel that Labrador will be left out again. I hope the Labrador party candidates do well for themselves.

A few day's ago I was driving around (Gander) and many of Kevin O'Brien's campaign signs we're torn up and pulled up from lawns. Today, October 4th I just come back from the store and discovered that Dianne Crewe's signs has her name ripped off and everyone just discovered that Sandra Kelly's name was underneath her name that was ripped off. I guess the Liberals already cutting back .......Now it's looks like we all re-electing Sandra Kelly...Umm, want till they see that this morning.
