Know your MHA
David Zelcer | CBC Online News | Sept. 29

I have my first anecdote from before they'd even made the election call. I was working on a district report for Exploits.
While driving through Bishop's Falls one morning, I stopped to talk to two men who were boosting a van.

The sign on the side of the van said "83 Chev $400 O.B.O."
I told the owner, a man who appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s, that I was interviewing people about the election.
He thanked me. He was unaware that there was one.

I asked him if he knew who his MHA was. He said "it's a woman," but he couldn't remember her name offhand. I informed him that his MHA was, in fact not a woman, but Roger Grimes. He said he was unaware of that.

I asked him if he knew that Grimes was the premier of the province. He says he was not aware of that. I asked him how he usually votes. He told me he usually votes Liberal.

I asked him how he's planning on voting this time. He told me he was going to wait and see who was promising what and decide then.

I thanked him for his time

CBC Radio's David Zelcer will be on the campaign trail with Liberal Leader Roger Grimes and PC Leader Danny Williams.
