MORE BAD NEWS FOR SNOW LOVERS

Hey Folks,

Before I get to what's coming next week... just wanted to give you a quick update on what's happening today.
Our system is already starting to pull away, however on the backside of this thing we're seeing some pretty gusty winds. The Snowfall will continue this evening in through the Northern Avalon with perhaps another 5-8 cm falling by midnight.

AMAZING SATELLITE SHOT!

Check this out. This is from NASA'S MODIS Satellite, taken on Wednesday. I check this out quite often, however I can't remember the last time I saw a shot so clear. Of course, yesterday was a clear day across the entire Province and as a result an amazing shot was snapped.

If want to see a really zoomed in version... click here.

You can clearly see a Frozen Lake Melville. All the Snow down the Long Range Mountains of the West Coast and then how things really turn green towards Central with very little on the ground. Things get brighter and whiter again as you hit the Burin and Avalon Peninsula's. That's thanks to our 15-20 cm shot last weekend.

COLD SHOT

I just wanted to briefly mention that it's really going to feel like Winter across the Province starting tomorrow and through the weekend. A solid Northwesterly flow is setting up and temperatures will drop close to what we experienced last weekend. Check out the long range tonight on the show for full details.

NFLD RAIN NEXT WEEK???

Say it aint so! I know you Snow lovers have already been put through enough however I'm watching a system rolling into the South Coast of California right now which has this Province in its Cross hairs.
It will track into the Great Lakes this weekend and then into our Province for Tuesday. Now true, we are still a handful of days out and anything can happen with the track of this system. However, I should tell you that the forecast track today, was the same track yesterday, was the same track 3 and 4 days ago.

If the track remains the same... all of Newfoundland would see Rain from this system. And it could be a healthy dose of Rain as well. With this track, the South Coast and the Eastern side of the Island would be most susceptible to a decent shot of Rain.
If the track remains the same... the Straits would be the Snow-Rain dividing line... while most of Labrador would be a moderate shot of Snow.

I'm keeping a close eye on this one and I'll keep you up to date.
