Turning Unsettled Mid-Week

Hey Folks,

I hope you had a great weekend. Things didn't quite clear out as fast as they should of in Eastern Newfoundland yesterday... however our area of High pressure has completely taken over today with sunshine right across Newfoundland. Tuesday will be another nice one... with just some afternoon cloud.
You folks in Labrador are dealing with a weak trough bringing some light snow, drizzle and even some patchy freezing drizzle today and tonight. However, expect things to clear overnight with a solid Sunny Tuesday in store.

2 SYSTEMS MID-LATE WEEK

As you know, I'm always looking ahead to "The Next System(s)" and there are a couple I'll be keeping an eye on this week.

-The first one is a weak area of Low pressure moving up the Eastern Seaboard today. This system will increase the cloud cover across the Island on Tuesday, before bringing in some showers on Wednesday and into Thursday. Showers being the key word here. Nothing significant from this system at all really.
You folks in Labrador won't be touched by this system at all.

-By Thursday our next system will already be taking shape off the Coast of the U.S. Southeast. However it's going to have a buddy helping it out. Another system making it's way out of the U.S. Plains, into the Great Lakes, Quebec and then into Western Labrador for Thursday, will be sitting just Northwest of our Coastal system and throwing LOTS of Cold air towards it on the backside. This is where things could get interesting as our Coast system makes it's way into the U.S. Northeast and then Atlantic Canada Friday/Saturday. Here's a peak at the GFS Model for this Saturday.

Again, I'll be watching the models closely over the next couple of days and keep you updated.
