THURS-FRI SYSTEM

Hey Folks,

Quickly off the top here I should mention our system which is still hanging out over our Province, keeping things fairly unsettled.

-Some bonus Sunshine this morning in Eastern Newfoundland will quickly disappear as Rain coming from the South moves in later this afternoon and through this evening with 5-10 mm of rain.
-In Western Newfoundland the cloud cover and scattered showers will continue.
-In Eastern Labrador a decent 10 mm shot today and another 10 mm overnight will keep things fairly soggy.
-In Western Labrador as expected the Rain changed to Snow overnight. My eyes on the ground Natalie Kalata told me she had to dust the car off this morning... but says the Snow isn't really sticking around now that it's mixing with Rain. Expect those showers to mix back over to Snow overnight tonight.

THURSDAY-FRIDAY SYSTEM

Alright I'm keeping a really close eye on this system which is pulling into the Great Lakes Region today.

This system will move to the Northeast and hit the Maritimes late tomorrow as a very Rainy system. No doubt some places through Eastern NB and PEI and Nova Scotia are on tap to see more than 50 mm.
As the system continues to clip Northeastward it's going to clip the Southeastern part of Newfoundland with Rain and Wind.
By Thursday afternoon the system will be pulling in.

On Friday it will already be starting to exit, however notice those isobars around the Low and how tightly packed together they are.

Those Isobars are a good indicator that the Winds will be extremely gusty and right in from the North on Friday and into Saturday as this thing starts to pull away. I think the Avalon region could certainly see winds of 60-80 km/h on Friday with gusts beyond that.

Rainfall totals look like they could be between 30-40 mm for areas East of Terra Nova. Depending on the exact track of the system, I think the possibility is there for some areas on the Avalon to see 50 mm+. But time will tell.

Stay tuned.

Ryan
