More October Thoughts
Well maybe this HAS BEEN the worst October ever. I've been talking to EC Meteorologist Rodney Barney this afternoon and he had some interesting thoughts to add to the gloomy October conversation. Barney says, "I think this one would go down in history as the "most depressing" October if there was such as category. While 1981 was indeed wetter, it was also 3° warmer, hardly any snow, and many more dry days as much of the rain fell in bigger amounts on fewer days. Then there was 1984 which was (slightly) colder, but much, much drier. This one was about as gloomy as it can get!" He added that today is the 14th day this month that Snow has been observed in Gander. AND depending on temperatures over the next 2 days, this month might still have a shot at this being the colest October on record for Gander. My thanks to Rodney from the Gander weather office for the awesome stats. So what do you think?? Has this been the worst October that you can remember? Drop a comment and let me know. Hi Ryan
Do you have a cause behind the weather for the past month? Is the budding El Nino playing havoc with the systems? Could we be in for a better November?
thanks!
Ryan, you are always talking about the poor weather on the Avoland how about the good weather we get here in Marystown on the Burin Penn.
Like everything in the news its all around the Alvond Penn

The worst or best is all in perspective. We would expect there to be more water than we could ever use...... but by June 01, 2010 we will be back into another water ban. Defies logic or proves water management is harder to find than a sunny day in October 2009. If all we did was manage run off we would be water rich!
We had a great summer so I guess this
is payback! haha
