Ch Ch Chilly Air Mass

Hey Folks,

It's a chilly one out there today... winds are in from the Northwest across the entire Province and that's pumping in some chilly temperatures. Currently as of 1pm this afternoon it's only 8 degrees in Gander. It's actually warmer in Nain than it is in Gander.

Here's a look at the Current Winds...

And Temperatures
Sept12.JPG

You can see those darker blue colours along the Coast Labrador, North of Groswater Bay. Some places away from the Coast and at higher elevations are seeing temperatures below zero today.
The weather station at Cape Kiglapait (Lat 57.13 N / Long 61.48 W) had temperatures of -2 this morning and is currently sitting at Zero. However the elevation there is 834 m.
The weather station at Tukialik Bay (Lat 54.72 N / Long 58.35 W) is at 683 m above sea level. Temperatures there are at zero as well.
Closer to the Coast and closer to sea level at 71 m Makkovik is at 7 degrees.

WARMING BACK UP
As I mentioned yesterday, temperatures will be on the rebound in Labrador tomorrow with a Southwesterly flow and temperatures pushing 20 degrees in Labrador City and HV-GB!
Even temperatures in Western and Central Newfoundland will bump up a bit on Thursday with 16-17 degrees. However that Northerly flow will stay dominate for most of the day in East keeping things below 11 or 12 degrees.

See you tonight on Here & Now.

Ryan
